About Natalie

Natalie Kurtog is a children writer, a member of the Writer's Union of Russia and Canada, was born in Ural city Perm. As a child she dreamt of becoming a children writer.

After studying literature in the university Natalie worked as a journalist. 

In addition to authorship she taught Russian history, speech therapy as well as wrote screen versions for performances and films.   

The perfomances were staged out of her books, which opened of the Moscow film festival. These performances were held at the 4-th International Festival of Children Book in the United Arab Emirates, Sharjah. 

Since 2005 Natalie has already published more than 50 fairy-tales for children. One of her new ideas was named "Pillow Tales". Natalie says: "Prior to close your eyes, listen to the interesting fairy-tales from Pillow before going to bed!"

Natalie's idea is attracting to reading by the use of game. That idea was accepted not only in Russia but also in other countries such as Tunis, South Africa, and Egypt.

Works by Natalie Kurtog were translated into several languages including Russian, English, French, Ukranian, Komi-Permyak (Finno-Ugric languages) and Arabic.

Natalie was granted with the following awards: Sholohov, Griboedov, certificate «For faithful service of the Russian literature" and the Diploma "Best Book 2008-2011" to the book "Perm tales".

Such books as "Pillow Tales", "The Secret of the Stone City", "The Old Mouse's fairy-tales", and many others were illustrated by the author. 

Natalie Kurtog is a participant of Russian Forums, International Conferences in South Africa, International Children Book Fair in Tunis,  the week of Children Book in Egypt, International Festival of Children Book in United Arab Emirates.
